The Context The attack on one of the country’s highest security areas, the Indian Parliament, on 13 December 2001 proved that security is only as strong as the weakest link. On 26 November 2008 India was attacked in its economic capital, Mumbai. This exposed the consequences of poorly planned facility security and the lack of quick response plan manned by experts. We witnessed the army and navy commandos struggle for three days to bring the situation under control. This was because, though highly trained, defence officers plan to secure borders and vast areas of land, not limited physical constructions.
