But life,

oh life!

why do you lie before me

like a dry riverbed

There is greenery in words,

yet barrenness in the days.

There is light in dreams,

but dust in waking eyes.

I had wished

for a simple happiness

the warm steam of bread,

a hand of trust resting on my shoulder,

and the quiet peace

of evenings returning fatigue.

But what I found was

a city of unfinished addresses,

streets of broken promises,

and an identity

losing itself in the crowd.

Yet still

poetry arrives.

When night

spreads its dark shawl,

a line quietly sits

upon my window.

When pain

slowly turns to salt

inside the bones,

a metaphor is born.

Is this failure

that life has lost

but words have survived

Or is it freedom

that the human within

can still speak

I dissolved my defeats

into ink,

and they spread

like a blue sky.

My silences

turned into lines,

my tears

into rhythms.

Life perhaps

was never on my side,

yet language

did not abandon me.

And so I write

not for victory,

not for monuments,

not for immortality.

I write

so that a witness remains

that I was alive,

that I felt,

and even among failures

I saw beauty being born.
